Leonard Kalfayan is an industry-recognized expert in well stimulation and production enhancement methods and technologies, and business development, having many years of global experience in the oil, gas, geothermal, and chemical industries. He is the Principal of Kalfayan Consulting, LLC. He retired from the Hess Corporation in 2022 where he was Principal Advisor, Production Enhancement and Functional Head of Production Engineering and Stimulation. Prior to joining Hess in 2009, he worked for the Unocal, BJ Services, and as an industry consultant. He is a past SPE Distinguished Lecturer on the subject of acid stimulation, and a SPE Distinguished Member. He is author of over 30 SPE and other journal publications and holds 13 U.S. patents. He is also author of the book Production Enhancement with Acid Stimulation (in its second edition), co-author of the book The Energy Imperative, and co-editor of the SPE Monograph: Acid Stimulation.
