Dr. Ellen R. Wald is an energy historian, geopolitical analyst, and author of Saudi, Inc.: The Arabian Kingdom’s Pursuit of Profit and Power, the authoritative book on Aramco. She holds a Ph.D. in history from Boston University, where she focused on business history and the role of American and British oil companies in the Middle East. A former professor and experienced lecturer, she has taught international relations and Middle East policy at several U.S. universities.
Dr. Wald is the co-founder of Washington Ivy Advisors, an advocacy firm reshaping public discourse on energy and climate. She also leads Transversal Consulting, where she advises clients on global energy markets, ESG, and strategic communications. She authored the SAGA Wisdom course “A Starter’s Guide to ESG, Energy and Climate” and is a Senior Fellow at both the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute.
