Founder

Bob was awarded the 2018 SPE Southwestern North America Region Formation Evaluation Award for his work integrating petrophysics with reservoir data to estimate recoverable oil and gas reserves in organic shales. He was one of 130 nominees for the 2024-25 SPE Distinguished Lecturer Program to speak on organic shale refracs, and served as a Distinguished Lecturer 1995-96 on the integration of petrophysics with hydraulic fracturing. Teaches the Subsurface Consultants and Associates 5 day open-hole log analysis course, 2 day refrac and new well “best practices” course, 4 day cased-hole course, and the 2 day upcoming course on inputs for CCUS project success. With over 50 total publications, Bob has authored or co-authored 20 SPE, URTeC, and DUG papers and major conference presentations and six major magazine articles on recompletions (see below).
