Conventional Reservoir Geochemistry

X:XX Hours
Reservoir geochemistry, when deployed early enough, can be used to identify and understand a myriad of areas within conventional systems. The primary goal of these programs is to help optimize petroleum recovery through an improved understanding of the distribution and nature of the fluids in the system(s). Although often seen through an exploration and appraisal lens other major applications in these systems, with significant business impact, are around understanding flow assurance problems, reservoir connectivity (unitization) and well integrity. The intent of the course is to provide awareness and understanding of how geochemical data is used in conventional plays, covering applications from exploration through to development and production challenges. The course includes a dedicated session on organic geochemical methods in conventional production allocation. In the course we will provide a fundamental introduction to geochemical applications in conventional settings, utilizing case study examples from across the globe. Exploration and development/production geoscientists, petrophysicists & engineers of any experience who wish to gain an understanding of how to successfully deploy applied geochemical programs. Participants will gain insight into how geochemical data can be used across the asset lifecycle in conventional settings and approaches taken to integrate with a range of other datasets and disciplines.
