This course offers participants a thorough understanding of the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) 2.0 reporting framework, guiding them through the essential steps to effectively implement and navigate OGMP 2.0 requirements. The course begins with an introduction to the OGMP 2.0 framework, providing foundational knowledge of its principles, objectives, and significance in the context of methane emissions reduction. Participants will learn how to get started with OGMP 2.0 reporting by understanding the necessary steps for data collection, documentation, and submission processes. Additionally, the course covers the guidelines and expectations for reporting methane emissions data to UNEP under the OGMP 2.0 framework. Participants will explore methodologies to achieve a Level 4 measurement-informed inventory by integrating direct measurements, remote sensing, and advanced analytics. The course further discusses strategies for attaining a Level 5 reconciled inventory through data validation, uncertainty quantification, and reconciliation processes to provide the highest accuracy in methane emissions reporting. By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to advance their organization’s OGMP 2.0 reporting, from foundational steps to achieving the highest levels of inventory accuracy and transparency.
