Lachlan Hughson

Lachlan Hughson, the founder of 4-D Resources Advisory LLC, has over 30 years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, capital markets and strategic advisory across the energy and mining industries, primarily as an investment banker and finance executive. His career was undertaken with Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, Standard Bank, Macquarie and Antero Resources where he undertook $30+ billion of M&A and $15+ billion of capital raising as both an agent and principal.

Lachlan founded 4-D Resources Advisory LLC to help executives and investors build better energy and mining companies using a probabilistic approach to the finance function. With management often making sub-optimal decisions based on limited output from static financial models, while their technical colleagues (geoscience, engineering) enhance their decisions through a probabilistic approach, the finance function can now easily provide improved insights to the decision-making process using the same approach.

He has a Master of Business degree from the University of Technology Sydney, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Master of Science degree, with Distinction, from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College London.
